Willy Wonka defends a little nonsense in the middle of a movie built almost entirely out of it, and he has a point. Camp runs on traditions that make no sense anywhere else, and that is a large part of why people love it. Carry some of that with you into whatever job you end up doing. How much is appropriate depends entirely on the room you are standing in.
